12 Days Left!!

Goal Update from last week: My goal last week was to be more patient with those who are stubborn. This week I have learned many things and at the end of the week I accomplished my goal. It took a week to get there, but I am now being more patient. Thank the Lord for that!

It's been about a week since I've updated and not much really has happened. I'm kinda freaking out about school though. I have 12 days left. My first final is 3 class periods away! whoa. I need to do well on my finals this semister in two classes. Unfortunately I have been slacking my senior year this semister. I need to stay motivated--but it's so hard!! My AP History grade is an 88 right now because I totally bombed our last test. OUCH! But hopefully I shall bring it up here soon with my project that we just did. But I'm ticked because we have another test in that class before the final. It's totally messed up. Oh well. My English grade isn't too hot right now, it's a 90 and I just took a quiz in there and got an 80 on it. So I'm sure my grade fell somewhat. But we just did a project which we should get an A on, so hopefully I won't have to try too hard on my final. It's going to be really hard to focus on finals!

I sent graduation announcements today. 70 announcements! Dang, you'd think I was getting married or something. Half of those are family. Actually probably more than half are family, which is CRAZY. I'm really excited for our party, we are going to have a lot of fun, and hopefully all of you can come! :) We are having 5 flavors of punch, so it's going to be amazing!

So we are planning our summer vacations. So far this is my busy summer schedule:

June 7-10: Going to Springfield to spend a weekend church searching and then I have orientation the 9th, and 10th.

June 2_ - July 6th: Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival. I'm not sure when we are leaving for sure, but probably around the 25th or 26th.

July 19-26(ish): Atlanta, GA. Darrick is graduating, so we are going! YAY! We are probably going to spend a week there... how awesome is that?

and then I'll get a month before I move. I'm sure there will probably be another visit to MSU sometime before I move. I think I can move in the 22nd of August. That's only a little under 4 months! WHOA!!!

Oh and FYI!

We are having a Lectureship this weekend at Old Main Street Church of Christ. It's going to be really good! It starts Friday the 2nd at 6:00 and goes through Sunday. I'll type up the schedule::

Moustaches and Movies

Goal update from last week: I said I wanted to work on being a better example. I think this week I failed at reaching my goal. Unfortunately I have a problem with road rage and a couple of times I got pretty angry at the cars in the school parking lot (Basically just this one truck that cut me off twice in one day and then again the next day) and I honked quite a bit. I probably wasn't setting a very good example. :(

So I was in Kingman this past weekend at my cousin Amy's house. Mallory, Alan, Brody, and I went down Friday so we could help Amy and Justin get ready for their garage sale on Saturday. We had a really good time. Amy had a pretty successful garage sale. It was the perfect day for a sale, sunny, warm and no wind. I did get a little sunburn--but that's okay.

Sunday I stayed in Kingman because they were having a youth rally/get together. It was a lot of fun. There were a lot of kids there, which is really good. That Sunday after morning services we went to eat at Jeri's kitchen. It just so happens that they sell fake moustaches and things there in the little vending machine type things. It was the perfect time to go to Jeri's becasue I actually NEEDED a fake moustache. I have an english video to create for a project and I had to dress up as Henry Ford, so I needed a moustache.

But Amy and I decided to buy a couple extra so we could take some sweet pictures and videos. It was really funny! I'll post a picture at the bottom.

I was really glad that I ended up going to Amy's instead of going to prom this weekend. I think it is one of the greater decisions I've ever made. But from the pictures, prom did look pretty fun! So I hope that everyone had a fun and safe weekend.

Darrick, Kathryn, and I plan on going to Wellington tomorrow evening for another meeting with Loy. I'm so excited! Who better to be around than your Christian family?

Goal for this week: Not be so stubborn--and to be patient with those who don't believe the same way as I.

1 is not the lonliest number!

Music Festival was today for us. Our orchestra played Symphony No. 88 by Hayden and Poet & Peasant by someone I can't remember. (haha) It went really well. Even though we rushed like crazy in a couple of parts, the judges seemed to have liked us. We received all 1's! Which is really good. Our wind ensemble received all 1's as well... so overall it was a good day for NHS Fine Arts. I'm not quite sure how Chorus did, but I'm sure they did well!

Here are some pictures of us on the bus ride to Wichita East High School, just being silly!

Tears de Français

This past Sunday we had our French Honor Society Induction Ceremony where 2nd year students get inducted and 4th year students receive cords for Graduation. Since I have been in French for 4 years I received cords. It was such a sad day, but joyful as well. It's really hard to think about leaving high school--especially my wonderful French family. My class is so close to each other. We are one big family. It's going go be really hard for me to leave my French teacher, Mme Kelting as well.

Mme Kelting is one of my heroes. She is an amazing person with one of the most caring personalities. Though her and I disagree on many things (especially politically and religiously), she is still a person that I look up to. She is a very loving and caring woman and accepts everyone for who they are. She is also a very real person. There is nothing fake about her whatsoever. Though it might get her in trouble sometimes, she is not afraid to say what she thinks or believes. She is a very grounded person--which I'm sure comes with age :). I love this woman so very much and I will miss her immensely!

Overheated, Blessed, Scared & Busy

Good News: My Laptop works!!!

Apparently my laptop just got overheated. I was not aware that you are suppose to let air circulate and so leaving the laptop on my bed was not a good idea. So after a day or so of down time, it ended up cooling off and working. I'm just glad that I didn't have to call Dell about it. :) Now that it works my stress level is down 100% and I am in a much better mood. I don't know why it is but computer problems always make me stressed out. Probably because I live on my computer and it is a very expensive computer that wasn't bought with my money. So I'm always afraid that I did something wrong.

I am feeling extremely blessed lately. Especially tonight now that my mood is much better because of the laptop. My life is great! I have a great family, amazing friends, and the Lord as companions. What more could I ask for? I have been so involved with Church things lately and it has done me good! I love being surrounded by pure things and thoughts. It's tough living in this world, so it's so nice to be around my church family a lot. I hope that things and gatherings keep coming up. :)

Speaking of things coming up... Graduation is in 5 weeks! WHAT?! Who would've thunk that I would be graduating so soon! I still can't believe it myself. Although I am extremely happy to be graduating because I feel like I belong in a world more mature than High School, I am still quite scared to move on. Being at home and around schoolmates has been my life for 12+ years. Graduating is just the first step of my life beyond High School. I am so ready to move on, on one hand. But on the other hand I'm scared a little. I think I will survive without my family, but I am going to miss them a lot! I really just don't want to miss out on anything. Especially with my cousins and their kids and my brother and sister if they start having kids. I don't know if I will be able to be away if Kathryn or Steven have kids. But I also don't want to be a homebody either. One of the main reasons I am choosing to go to Missouri State is so I can get away from home and grow up. I have a feeling that if I don't leave right after high school and even just take a year off, I'll want to stay home forever and never go to school. And I don't want that to happen. I want to get away from home to see the other way of life outside of Newton/Wichita. But as much as I tell myself that MSU is the best choice for me, I still have my doubts. It's only 4.5 hours away, but I won't be able to come home whenever I want really. I am going to miss my mom a lot, and what worries me most is that she's going to be home alone. We are kind of each others' support system at home. So it's going to be really hard leaving that.

Along with graduation and college, I am EXTREMELY busy this month. I have things planned on every weekend for the next 4 weekends with church related things, which is good, but I need to find some time to do graduation things. I need to get announcements ready and sent, a slide show put together for me and 4 of my friends, and also get my graduation party things situated. Unfortunately the month of April is not a month of having fun with my friends and doing the slacker senior things... it is a very busy month for me, but that is actually good for me. I need things to do so I don't feel like such a bum! :)

My goal #1 for this week: Work on being a better example.
Scripture for goal #1: Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." (KJV)

Commencement

Big News: I created a blog! :)
Kathryn was talking to me last night about blogging, and so I decided that I would make one. Just for fun!
I have had blogs before, and I'm pretty sure that I had one on here before. But I can't seem to find it. (Just kidding! I found it: http://bethieloufreebush.blogspot.com/ if you wanna see old posts go there!) I'm not very good at updating blogs. I always end up forgetting to update. So we'll see how this one goes. :)

As of yesterday around 7:00, my laptop has been going haywire! It is only 1 month old and it is already causing me problems. I'm pretty sure it is due to the stupid Windows Vista that has many bugs. It hasn't given me ANY problems until yesterday. So I didn't think anything of it when my laptop froze yesterday for the first time. It froze and I couldn't access the task manager or anything. The only thing working was the mouse, but it couldn't click on anything, so that did nothing good. I had to shut it down manually--which isn't good for any computer. I restarted it thinking it would be alright, but I was wrong. I have done many things to try to fix it, and I just can't! It is still freezing. After I start my laptop it is active for 3 minutes, and then it freezes and I have to shut it down. It's quite frustrating and I'm so angry at Dell, that I can't call them. So I'm waiting for Steven to come over and look at it, and maybe he'll figure it out. Wish me luck on figuring it out!!

Loy Mitchell is going to be speaking at Derby Church of Christ starting tomorrow and going through Wednesday. I'm quite excited to go hear him speak. I haven't seen him for many years, when we would go visit my sister in Topeka. He's such a great speaker and a great man, so I'm quite excited to hear him! :)

Well housework is calling me. Unfortunately I need to do major cleaning that hasn't been done since before my dad died. Life has been crazy since January! Now that I don't have a laptop to distract me, a little housework can probably get finished.
